Sky Eye Aerial Photography Ltd is a Goring-based company specialising in taking striking high-resolution, low altitude images, mainly for commercial and industrial clients throughout the UK, but also for individuals wanting their private properties photographed from the air.

Unlike most other aerial photographers, who use helicopters or fixed wing aircraft, we use remote controlled cameras (professional digital or medium format film) which are lifted into the air by either a tethered helium balloon or a telescopic mast.

The Sky Eye Balloon Photography Unit, a 26 foot long balloon tethered to a Landrover, is the only one of its type in the country. It can operate at altitudes up to 175 m / 575 ft), much lower than conventional aircraft, and therefore produces dramatic close-up images from unusual perspectives, even in city centre locations where traditional aircraft are prohibited.

A particular advantage of the balloon method is that it is silent in flight and can be held at any height or position for many hours.

The balloon is particularly ideal for taking 360 degree panoramas at specific heights (such as the 20th, 30th and 40th storey levels) of yet-to-be-built tower blocks to demonstrate the views for potential property purchasers.

The Sky Eye Telescopic Mast Unit is suited to lower level photography up to 22 m / 70 ft.

In addition to taking photographs directly, Sky Eye also arranges aircraft and helicopter photography, using a network of professional aerial photographer colleagues, for clients where balloon and mast shots are not appropriate.

In a related activity, Sky Eye Projects Ltd designs and supplies aerial photography equipment for national and international organisations, as well as for professional photographers and amateur enthusiasts.

Some excellent aerial photos are shown on the Twinning Association Website.
